The Single Woman Says:

Today as I watch the news reports coming in from the northeast about the damages, the death, and the destruction left in the wake of Sandy, I am reminded of the importance of perspective.

Maybe you didn’t get the raise you thought, or asked out on the date you hoped for, or maybe you sat in traffic this morning for an hour on the way to work. Maybe you woke up on the wrong side of the bed and you’re having a bad hair day and you’ve been on that diet for a month now and have only lost 5 ounces.

I get it. Bad days happen. But here’s the thing.

If you woke up this morning in a safe, warm place, and you’re in good health, and your family is still intact, and you have a car (no matter how old) to get in to take you to a job that makes you money (no matter how little)…and you have breath in your lungs and shoes on your feet and another opportunity to get it right…it’s a good day.

When it finally hits you that you’re already starting the day from a place of abundance…suddenly everything else looks a whole lot brighter.

Most of the time it’s not our lives that need to change – it’s our perspective.

Now get out there and have a glass-half-full kinda day.
