The Single Woman’s Dash of Sass: Sometimes Choppy Seas Lead to the Sweetest Destinations!

Quote of the Day:

“When you face adversity, you need to remind yourself that whatever is trying to defeat you could very well be what God will use to promote you.” ~Joel Osteen

The Single Woman Says:

In the spirit of openness and transparency, I will share with you guys that the last week or so of my life has been a bit of a bumpy ride. I’ve felt rather like a little tugboat plucked from its safe harbor and tossed into open, turbulent, choppy, stormy waters. And while I’m someone who always tries to live by the phrase “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger,” when you’re actually walking through the valley, it’s a lot more difficult to reach into your reserves and pull out the same joy that you experienced when you were on the mountaintop. I say all this to say that while I try to encourage you and motivate you and inspire you every single day to live your best lives…I, too, understand what it’s like to feel like your best life has flown the coop. I know what it feels like to be talked about…made fun of…misunderstood…abandoned…dismissed…rejected…and persecuted for simply being YOU. I have not by any means reached a place of enlightenment that allows me to talk down to you from the sheltered “Promised Land.” I’m on the same quest as you are, and I hurt, I cry, I make mistakes, and I ask “Why?” But at the end of the day, I know in my heart that even on the darkest days, the sun is still waiting to shine. I know that when pain arrives, joy isn’t far behind. And I know that God has a way of shaking, rattling, rolling, and allowing us to be broken down right before He builds us back up, better and stronger than ever before. Remember this when it feels like the world is against you: If no one is talking about you, you’re probably not doing anything very important. You can’t make an impact on anyone if you’re too busy trying to make a friend out of everyone. If you’re walking through hell today…it means a miracle is on its way. Stand strong and let no one break your stride.
