The Single Woman’s Dash of Sass: The Urge to Purge

Quote of the Day:

“Think about any attachments that are depleting your emotional reserves. Consider letting them go.” ~Oprah

The Single Woman Says:

Yesterday I tweeted a quote by Patti Stanger about the act of deleting your exes from your phone in order to make room for new love to arrive. After I tweeted it, I went through my phone and deleted about 10-12 ghosts of relationships past, without even blinking. I really do believe that in any area of our lives, we have to remove the excess baggage if we wanna fly. Especially in our digital lives. How many people are you following on Twitter or friends with on Facebook that post constant negative, bitter, passive aggressive, Debbie Downer updates? How is that affecting your own mood every day? Today I encourage you to follow your urge to purge. Rid your life of all of the unnecessary JUNK. Do a sweep through your phone, your Twitter timeline, your Facebook friends…and trim the fat. You should follow someone or friend someone because they uplift you or add to your life in some way. Ask yourself if the people whose thoughts you are welcoming into your life every day are people whose lives you want to emulate. Ask yourself if that address book full of former flings and crushes is really acting as crutches. Then cut yourself free of the puppet strings of attachment and reclaim your spot as director of your own life.
