The Single Woman’s Dash of Sass: September 6, 2011

Quote of the Day:

“Life is a journey through time, filled with may choices; each of us will experience life in our own special way. So when the days come that are filled with frustration and unexpected responsibilities, remember to believe in yourself and all you want your life to be, because the challenges and changes will only help you to find the dreams that you know are meant to come true for you.” ~Deanna Beisser

The Single Woman Says:

I took a literal journey out of town this weekend that I think served as a perfect metaphor for the journey of life. There were high moments. There were low moments. There were obstacles and hurdles and unexpected setbacks. There were encounters with people that forever changed me. There were encounters with people that disappointed me. There was rejection. There were fair-weather friends. There were lifelong dreams come true. And there were moments of sheer joy and beauty and magic that I will remember for the rest of my life. All over the course of FOUR days! That’s one of the greatest things about life…it is forever evolving and changing and rearranging…revealing to us deeper layers of ourselves and our fellow travelers and crossing our paths will people and experiences that we’re meant to crash into, if only to see who cares enough to catch us. I firmly believe that some journeys are taken just to bring what REALLY matters into focus…and to allow us to add new people to our circle and to eliminate others. And sometimes our luggage is lost along the way because it was only meant to get us to TODAY. Not tomorrow. Not the next day. It served its purpose in the past but was never meant to last. So next time your itinerary gets tossed out the window and the people you thought loved you reject you and the people you barely know turn out to be the people you can’t imagine your life without…realize that God and the Universe are at work, taking you on a journey that you didn’t know you needed to bring you everything you ever wanted. Then surrender the wheel and let the adventure begin.
