The Single Woman Says:
As we celebrate Memorial Day with friends and family today, at cookouts and pool parties and picnics, let’s take a minute to remember the sacrifice at the heart of this day. Today isn’t a celebration of a new season, or the fact that we can wear white shoes again, or that we have the day off work – but a day-long moment of silence to honor those brave men and women who have given not only their time and their service and their talent to this country…but in many cases, their LIVES.
I am ever-humbled by the bravery of these men and women, who, leaving their homes and friends and families behind, proudly put on that uniform and march fearlessly into battle, never knowing if they’ll return or not. Today, I salute you. I honor you. I celebrate you. I remember you. And most of all…I THANK you.
Happy Memorial Day, friends. I love you all.
