The Single Woman’s Dash of Sass – May 12, 2011

Quote of the Day:

“The less you associate with some people, the more your life will improve. Any time you tolerate mediocrity in others, it increases your mediocrity. An important attribute in successful people is their impatience with negative thinking and negative acting people. As you grow, your associates will change. Some of your friends will not want you to go on. They will want you to stay where they are. Friends that don’t help you climb will want you to crawl. Your friends will stretch your vision or choke your dream. Those that don’t increase you will eventually decrease you.” ~Colin Powell

The Single Woman Says:

Though this quote sums up just about everything I could say and then some…I will add this: Some people that are in your life at this very moment are not adding to you. And if they’re not adding TO you, guess what? They’re subtracting FROM you. Anyone that is in your life merely to take up space – REPLACE. That “friend” or “lover” who subtly puts you down to build themselves UP…let ’em go. There is nothing friendly or loving about someone who wants to make you feel smaller so they can walk taller. Life will reward your willingness to release that negative person in your life with two or three positive ones. Just like a garden needs pruning to prevent the weeds from choking the seeds…so does your life. So go ahead. Get to work. Spring is here and the great, big, beautiful flowers in your life are looking for room to bloom!
